The HSE Purple Guide states that every event should have a medical plan based on a comprehensive risk assessment and that medical provision should be provided for the full duration of the event, including build up and break down. We can help provide any level of medical service, assist with the medical planning, risk assessment and deployment of appropriately trained and experienced staff.

Additionally, The HSE Purple Guide states "Medical plans should aim to provide a safe, effective and resilient service on site whilst helping to minimise the impact on NHS resources". Reliance Events UK staff and management have extensive experience in providing self-sufficient services without impeding local NHS services.

Our staff all come in the internationally recognised green uniform with I.D badges and all must hold an Enhanced DBS.

Medical Skills Explained

We don't like to bamboozle you with fancy words, so here's a brief overview of what we can provide

First Aiders

Event First Aid Trained, including manual handling, crowd management and event specific training. Use of Defibrillators, treatment of traumatic and life-threatening injuries. Trained in early recognition and treatment of mass casualty incidents. First Aiders are also trained to assist the other skill sets we provide, up to, and including, paramedics, doctors, and nurses.

Event First Responders

Our Event First Responders hold national accredited and recognised training (i.e. First Response Emergency Care (FREC3) or First Person on Scene (FPOS)).

Their training assists in practical aspects of pre-hospital care including the management of minor injuries and illnesses, medical observations, assisting higher clinician grades and use medical gases and defibrillators.

Emergency Care Assistants

Our ECAs all hold a nationally accredited qualification (i.e. First Response Emergency Care (FREC4)) along with knowledge and experience in the ambulance service and environment.

Our ECAs also hold a nationally accredited emergency driving qualification.

Emergency Medical Technicians

Our EMTs/Technicians are trained in line with the national frameworking by the NHS and nationally accredited certifications (i.e. First Response Emergency & Urgent Care QCF (FREC 5), Associate Ambulance Practitioner etc.).

EMTs can autonomously manage trauma and medical cases and can administer some life saving drugs and perform some invasive procedures.

Nurses/Emergency Nurse Practitioners

Our Nurses and Advanced Nurse Practitioners must all be Health Care Professionals registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. They are able to provide advanced care which can include would gluing and suturing, advanced patient monitoring and management.

Paramedics

All our Paramedics are Health Care Professionals who are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Paramedics are able to bring the hospital into the field with enhanced patient assessment, cannulation, drug therapy, Advanced Life Support, and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support.

Paramedics can bring some surgical techniques and are able to administer advanced medication on their own initiative.
